A TEESSIDE tea dance raised almost £200 for care home residents living with dementia.

Music, dancing, a fitness session, buffet and refreshments were enjoyed at Teesside Golf Club, on Acklam Road.

The event was organised by Mandale House Care Home, with funds from ticket sales going towards new sensory equipment for residents with dementia.

Music was supplied by local DJ Mr Motivator and cakes by Stockton-on-Tees bakery Simple Treats.

More than 60 tea party goers took to the dance floor, as part of wider Dementia Awareness Week activities taking place across Teesside.

The Beeches Care Home, in Stockton-on-Tees, and The Gables Care Home, in Middlesbrough, also attended. All three homes are operated by the Hill Care Group.

Christine Reason, home manager for Mandale House Care Home, said: “Our tea dance was a huge success and everyone had a great time.

“It was great to see so many from the local community come along to enjoy a cake, a cup of tea and a dance with our residents.

“All funds from the event will help purchase sensory equipment for our residents living with dementia.”
