Home Press Releases Magic BBQ despite downpours at Pelton Grange Care Home
MAGIC turned a Chester-le-Street care home BBQ wash out into an afternoon of entertainment.
Pelton Grange Care Home residents, staff and visitors had to retreat indoors when the skies opened over their annual summer BBQ.
Magician Steve Bell kept everyone’s spirits from being dampened, however, with his conjuring tricks and sleight of hand.
The interactive show saw residents and staff picking cards and being wowed with seemingly impossible feats.
They also kept wearing their beach clothes, sunglasses and Hawaiian leis to stay in the summer spirit, despite the downpour outside.
The BBQ also stayed alight, albeit under cover, with sausages, burgers, onion rings, potato wedges and chicken all available.
The feast was followed by desserts of banoffee pie, chocolate fudge cake and lemon cheesecake.
Christopher Hogan-Hind, home manager at Pelton Grange Care Home, on Front Street, Pelton, said: “Despite the rain we still had a fantastic BBQ to mark the end of summer.
“Everyone had a great time being wowed by magician Steve Bell’s amazing tricks and tucking into a fantastic array of food provided by our very own chef, Jason Hewitson.”
