CARE home staff raised hundreds of pounds for stroke survivors and their families after helping supermarket shoppers with their packing.

Staff from The Beeches Care Home in Stockton on Tees, organised the Stroke Association fundraiser at Tesco Extra, on Durham Road.

They spent the day on the checkouts, collecting £219.92 in donations from generous shoppers.

Helen Wood, home manager at The Beeches Care Home, on Green Lane, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who dropped donations into our collection buckets at Tesco on Durham Road.

“A big thank you also goes to the supermarket staff for being so welcoming and helping us to collect such a great amount.

“The Stroke Association is Hill Care’s chosen charity for 2018.

“As a Hill Care home, we’re trying to raise as much money as possible, alongside the Group’s other homes across the north.”
