Singing priest and GP entertains care home residents

A SINGING priest and GP has been entertaining residents at a Skelmersdale care home.

Rev Dr Anne Kazich took her guitar and song book to Aaron Crest Care Home, on Tanhouse Road, Skelemersdale Lancashire.

The community priest in the parish of St. Paul’s, Skelmersdale, lead renditions of classic hymns and songs.

They included “Amazing Grace”, “Que Sera Sera”, “Take Me Home Country Roads”, and “My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean”.

Residents, staff and visitors all joined in with the singalong before being asked to take an autumn leaf and describe their thoughts and memories.

Adrienne Ratcliffe, home manager at Aaron Crest Care Home, said: “The aim of the singing sessions is to improve wellbeing and bring people together from across the community.

“Everyone had a wonderful time with lots of song and laughter and they are looking forward to the next session.”

The singalong sessions are open to anyone, with the next taking place at 3pm on Thursday, 22nd November.
