HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised for elderly Ripon residents following their care home Christmas fair.

Mayor of Ripon Coun Eamon Parkin was among the guests at the Christmas fair at Sycamore Hall Care Home, on Kearsley Road.

A raffle, tombola, and guess the weight of the Christmas cake, which was made by residents, all helped generated £549.28 for the residents’ fund.

There was also a cake sale and craft stalls as well as hot drinks and mince pies.

Ewelina Sosnowska, home manager at Sycamore Hall Care Home, said: “It was a fabulous turn out and there were lots of prizes won by visitors and residents.

“Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the Christmas fair, including Mayor Coun Parkin, as well as the stall holders who came along to sell their goods.

“It was a lovely afternoon enjoyed by everyone and we raised a fantastic amount for the residents’ fund, which will help towards days trips and activities in the new year.”
