A HOSPITAL raffle (domestic worker) has raised hundreds of pounds as a thank you to the Teesside care home where her mother lives.
Among those living at the home is Sue’s mother, May Small, so she wanted to raise money for the residents’ fund, which helps towards day trips and activities.
With support from Carol Conlin, ward clerk on Ward 32 at the hospital, and Jackie Batenan, clerk on Ward 33, they raffled dozens of Easter eggs.
The three hospital workers presented a cheque for £600 to staff and residents at Mandale House Care Home after the success of the raffle.
Sue said: “When everyone on the ward heard there was an Easter egg raffle, they flocked to buy tickets.”
Sue’s mum May said: “I’m very proud of my daughter.”
Sue, Carol and Jackie paid a visit to Mandale House Care Home to hand over the money, when staff and residents burst into a round of applause and presented flowers.
The home’s staff also organised an afternoon tea to say thank you for the generous donation.
Louise Clements, home manager at Mandale House Care Home, said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you to Sue, Carol and Jackie for their amazing donation.
“The funds will go a long way to supporting day trips and activities for the residents throughout the year.”
