To place a much loved Mum into residential care is a huge responsibility and tremendously difficult. Despite this, the staff at Alderwood have given Mum a significant amount of support over the past year to settle into a new environment and regularly go above and beyond their duties to provide a kind, caring and stimulating environment. To manage residents who have a significant degree of Dementia requires patience and a person-centred approach, all of which we have found at Alderwood. The activities on offer are varied and bring much joy to many residents. Staff working in all areas of the home, work towards making this a pleasant and welcoming environment.

I know this review should relate to one month only, but i want to thank the staff at Holmewood Care Home for the way that they have cared for my Mum and all the residents in recent months. My mum has been at Holmewood for several years and I think of it as her home.

The care and attention that has been given to my mother-in-law is just excellent. She is part of a very caring and loving environment and is treated in such a lovely way that comes across as her being so happy in herself. She enjoys everything that she does and is kept busy doing activities that she likes in a very safe setting and a very happy place.

Staff so helpful and courteous since mother joined 6 years ago. Pleasure to see them and talk to them about progress even through the pandemic. Well done to all.

I like it here. Always made to feel comfortable and involved in choices about my care.

To Karen and all the staff, a great big thank you. Agnes is  coming home in good health thanks to the wonderful care she has been given at Springbank House.

Thank you for everything you did for Joan during her time at Waverley Lodge. Such difficult times with the pandemic but the family always knew that she was being cared for really well by the most lovely professional and caring staff.

Couldn’t recommend this care home enough!!! We brought my Nan here in November for respite but she has ended up a permanent resident. My Nan was always so sure she’d never go to a care home, but the great staff and manager has made her want to stay. Always look out for their residents and always keep us informed of anything going on. My Nan loves the meals too! Great care home all round!

To everyone at Simonsfield, thank you will never be enough to express our gratitude for all of the love and care you gave May. Our family will be forever indebted to you, your compassion and kindness shines through.  To know how well May was cared for and how safe she was will be something we will always treasure.

Thank you so much for the bumper newsletter.  Wow, how lovely it is to see our loved ones, so well provided for in so many ways. The thoughtful consideration for their wellbeing and going more than the extra miles, in difficult times, to keep residents, busy, entertained and well fed with yummy food.

I would like to thank you all at Simonsfield for all the care that you gave to Mum.  She did more in her short time with you than she had done in a long time. 

It was very fortunate to find a place for mum at Sycamore Hall.  The care and support that you gave to mum in what was to be the final stages of her life was superb. Through what has been a difficult time in the face of a pandemic, the care shown to residents and relatives has been amazing.

All the family thank you and all your staff for the fantastic way you have looked after mum whilst she’s been in your care.

To The Residents at The Limes Care Home. Please accept this thank you on behalf of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals for the Thank You cards you sent us recently. It is very lovely to receive cards like this to remind our staff of how proud we are of them.

We cannot put into words the appreciation we have for all of you caring for mum. Through this difficult time you have cared for mum and supported us and for that we have boundless respect for you and the team.  We hope that there are many years to come for mum to call Mandale House her home. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
