RETIREE U3A recorder players put on a symphony for Chesterfield care home residents.

Members of the University of the Third Age (U3A), a nationwide network of older people, performed at Springbank House Care Home. Around a dozen of Chesterfield’s U3A recorder members visited the home to play the concert, watched by residents, staff and visitors. Karen Busby, home manager at Springbank House Care Home, on Ashgate Road, said: “It was lovely for the U3A members to visit the home. “They put on an amazing performance for our residents, who thoroughly enjoyed the music and chatting with the members afterwards.

“We hope they will visit us again in future.”

U3A encourages and supports retired and semi-retired people to come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment. To learn more about the U3A or join events and activities in your region visit www.u3a.org.uk.
