ELDERLY residents have sent out a message of “stay home stay safe” in a video from their Sheffield care home.

Residents from The Limes Care Home, on Manchester Road, wanted to encourage others to follow government guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

One resident was recorded saying “go and get your vaccines now”, while another said “everybody keep safe, get your vaccine”, and several reiterated “stay at home, stay safe.”

The idea for sending out the message came from a discussion between the residents, including Michael Bedford, David Oxley, Frank Smith, Margaret Kasmierski, Joyce Keen, Brenda Atkin, Jean Cooper, and Audrey Barnes, who can all be seen in the video.

Craig White, home manager at The Limes Care Home, said: “The country is now on its third national lockdown.

“Residents were talking about it and wanted to send out a message to remind everyone to stay safe and follow the guidelines. After all the sooner we all do that the sooner the virus will be beaten.”
