A SENIOR citizens pub lunch was enjoyed by elderly residents from two Teesside care homes.

Ingleby Care Home, in Ingleby Barwick, and Mandale House Care Home, in Thornaby, made an outing to The Roundel.

The Thornaby Pub holds a two course Senior Citizens Lunches every six weeks, alongside a game of bingo and an afternoon of singing and dancing, with entertainer Pete Matlock.

Moira Hall, a resident at Ingleby Care Home, on Lamb Lane, said: “It was nice to have a meal and a drink with ladies who like dancing as much as I do.”

Mavis Wilson, a resident at Mandale House Care Home, on Acklam Road, said: “It’s great fun to be taken out and have such a wonderful day.”

Sarah Robinson, activities coordinator at Mandale House, said: “It was nice getting out in the community and seeing the residents interacting with friends from Ingleby Care Home.”

Kirsty Walsh, activities coordinator at Ingleby, said: “The ladies had a lovely time. They said it was like a trip down memory lane going to The Roundel as they used to go out for a drink in their younger days.”
