Old fashioned fun for family day at Ingleby Care Home

HOOK-a-duck, tombola and cake stalls marked a family fun day at Ingleby Care Home, Stockton on Tees.

The home’s residents chose old fashioned activities for the event, attended by relatives, friends, children and grandchildren.

Prizes included bubbles, sweets, chocolates and hampers for the winners of the various activities.

Between breaks in the weather, visitors also enjoyed the new sensory garden, installed earlier in the year to help residents living with dementia.

Kirsty Walsh, activities coordinator at Ingleby Care Home, on Lamb Lane, said: “We wanted to do something that would appeal to the wider community in Ingleby Barwick as well as the families that visit their relatives at the home.

“Residents came up with the idea of a family fun day, so that everyone would be involved. It proved a real hit with everyone.”
