Head shave raises over £700 for elderly care home residents

HAIR today, gone tomorrow for a Stockton fundraiser whose sponsored head shave raised hundreds for elderly care home residents.

Ruth Atkinson, from Yarm, faced the sheers and had all her hair shaved off to raise funds for sensory equipment and daytrips for residents of The Beeches Care Home.

She collected over £700 for the home, on Green Lane, where her mother Ellen Atkinson has been living since February 2016.

Ruth said: “The care and support my mum has been given has been outstanding.

“I wanted to help raise funds for the home as I appreciate how expensive events and outings are. I wanted to do something that would benefit all the residents in the home.”
