Dog supplies donated by Tyneside care home

TYNESIDE rescue dogs received a package of vital supplies after a Hebburn care home held a collection.

Staff and relatives of residents at Willowdene Care Home, on Victoria Road West, have been collecting dog food, toys and blankets.

The supplies have been donated to Cleadon Kennels, in Sunderland.

Gill Lennox, who works at the kennels and also runs Dog Theft Awareness North East, said: “We were overwhelmed by the donation from the home.”

Michael Beaney, home manager at Willowdene Care Home, and activities coordinator Christine Chandler organised the collection.

Michael said: “The staff and relatives did a brilliant job collecting so many supplies for Cleadon Kennels. Our thanks go to everyone who donated.”
