The Clayton West care home recently began its Ladies and Gents clubs to shine a light on different residents’ hobbies and interests.
Of course, everyone is welcome at both, and sometimes that adds to the fun!
This week, it was the Ladies Club, and the ladies artistic skills were sorely tested on a unique medium, biscuits!
Anne, Pat, Barbara, Joyce, Joyce, Helga and Elsa spent the afternoon in the dining room, chatting and socialising while decorating biscuits.
They all enjoyed a tipple whilst they worked.
The ladies agreed that it was more complicated than it looked to use the icing, but it didn’t stop them.
Anne, who enjoys art as a hobby, spent the session making an intricate flower on her biscuit, whereas Joyce enjoyed writing her name onto hers. Elsa said that she didn’t mind going wrong as there was a tasty way to start again.
They all agreed that it was fun to socialise whilst trying something new.
Lauren, the Activity Coordinator, said, “I enjoy doing these kinds of events; it’s lovely to see our residents come together and enjoy themselves in a relaxed and social environment.”
