A TEESSIDE care home cake sale has raised over £100 for the Stroke Association.

The Beeches Care Home, on Green Lane, Stockton-on-Tees, sold home-baked cakes and biscuits to residents, relatives and visiting health professionals to raise the funds.

They collected £116 from the sale – taking their total raised for the charity to over £150 since the start of the year.

The home is also planning a sponsored PJs day and home manager Helen Wood and administrator Debra Hall will take part in the charity’s annual Step Out For Stroke event, which takes place in Stewart Park, Middlesbrough, on 1st June.

They will be joining thousands taking part in sponsored walks throughout the UK.

Helen said: “We are aiming to raise as much money as possible for the Stroke Association throughout the year.

“The cake sale was our latest fundraiser, taking our total to over £150 so far, and we plan to keep adding to that with various events and activities.”
